Vivienne Westwood flocked tulle “Boulle” corset from the Spring/Summer 1992 “Salon” collection, an exceptionally romantic and collectible piece from one of Westwood’s most historically referential periods.

The corset is crafted from delicate white tulle, flocked with a central Orb motif and elaborate rococo-inspired decoration, including shells, dancing figures, canopies, columns, and trailing vines. The design reflects Westwood’s fascination with 18th-century dress, courtly ceremony, and the theatrical codes of aristocratic femininity, reinterpreted through her unmistakably subversive corsetry.

A version of the “Boulle” design is held by the Victoria and Albert Museum, created for Lady Bianca Job-Tyran to wear to Queen Charlotte’s Ball in 1994. The piece perfectly captures the grandeur required for the occasion while translating historic court dress into Westwood’s modern, sculptural language.

The corset features a structured inner construction with boning, a back zipper closure, and sheer embroidered tulle overlay. With its white tulle, historic court-dress references, and sculpted corset construction, this would make an exceptional piece for a modern bride seeking something rare, romantic, and deeply fashion-historical.
