From Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Spring Summer 2019 collection for Christian Dior, this ethereal white gown embodies the house’s lyrical celebration of the body in motion. Presented as Look 3 on the runway, the collection marked the first time jersey was introduced in such a fluid, sculptural way — cut, draped, and pleated into refined neo-Grecian silhouettes.

Inspired by dance and ballet, the show explored freedom through discipline. As noted in the collection statement: “Dance and fashion define the body and, through discipline, teach us to own it.” The dance motif allowed Chiuri to move away from rigid construction, instead building many looks over a bodysuit base, creating softness and lyrical movement. The result: draped, pleated goddess gowns that feel both classical and contemporary.

This dress features a softly wrapped, asymmetrical Grecian bodice with a fluid, finely pleated skirt that moves beautifully with the body. The stretch jersey fabric gives the silhouette ease and elegance, maintaining shape while allowing graceful motion.
