Christian Dior by John Galliano Fall/Winter 1998 grey wool tweed skirt suit from the celebrated “Sportswear on Heels” Autumn/Winter 1998–1999 collection.

A beautifully documented and highly collectible Galliano-era Dior set, this suit is crafted from grey Donegal-style tweed in a wool and cashmere blend, then exquisitely edged with delicate white Calais lace. The lace trims the notched lapel, pocket flaps, cuffs, and skirt hem, giving the sharp tailored silhouette a soft, romantic contrast. An identical suit is held in the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, making this an especially desirable piece for collectors of late-1990s Dior.

The jacket is cut in a fitted, feminine shape with three matching grey passementerie buttons and ivory silk lining embroidered with the “CD” monogram. Sold with the matching pencil skirt, finished with a zip fastening and ivory silk lining.
