Chanel Cruise 2002 Midnight Blue Jersey & Chiffon Sash 02C Gown

Sale price$3,600.00

Condition: VERY GOOD

The Cruise collections have always been part of the house’s story. Gabrielle Chanel loved to travel and introduced the idea of “cruise” dressing in the 1920s, presenting complete seasonal wardrobes for women on the move. Decades later, Karl Lagerfeld revived the tradition and turned Cruise into one of Chanel’s most anticipated moments.

This 2002 Cruise gown is a beautiful example of that spirit. It combines stretch ribbed jersey with panels of silk chiffon in a deep midnight blue that reads almost black in certain light. The cut is pure evening, but the fabric makes it surprisingly easy and comfortable to wear.

The bodice is fitted and supported by curved shoulder straps. On one shoulder, soft loops of chiffon fall freely or can be draped over the arm. A delicate chiffon flower sits at the top, and a small CC logo detail finishes the strap. A draped chiffon panel sweeps across the front and back of the bodice, adding movement without feeling heavy.

The skirt hugs through the hips, narrows slightly, then opens into a soft flare with chiffon insets that create transparency and flow at the hem. The back extends into a subtle train. The jersey allows for stretch and movement, so it adapts beautifully to the body.

Fully lined in matching blue silk chiffon. Hidden side zipper closure. The fabric has stretch.
