Chanel 1964 Haute Couture Coco Gabrielle Ecru Tweed Gold Lion Jacket

Sale price$18,000.00

Condition: GOOD

An iconic piece of fashion history - this Chanel Haute Couture jacket from 1964 is one of the most legendary designs ever created under Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel herself. Made in cream tweed and trimmed in raspberry red and navy, it features signature gold lion-head buttons, a nod to Chanel’s zodiac sign, Leo.

This exact model was worn by Mademoiselle Chanel multiple times throughout the 1950s and 60s and is immortalized in archival imagery, the cover of Karl Lagerfeld’s The Return, and the Chanel: The Impossible Collection book. A preserved example of this jacket is also part of the Gabrielle Chanel: Fashion Manifesto exhibition.

Beautifully constructed with four front pockets and bracelet-length sleeves, this rare museum-level piece still retains its Haute Couture label and serial number.
